Our Premium Hojicha tea, crafted in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, is made from late-season tea leaves roasted over charcoal to develop its distinctive nutty, caramel-like profile. This traditional Japanese roasted green tea reduces bitterness and caffeine, making it the perfect choice for low caffeine tea lovers and ideal for evening Japanese tea rituals or wind-down moments.

In Aichi, skilled tea roasters carefully monitor temperature and timing to bring out its mellow, toasted notes. Traditionally served after meals or before rest, it’s a tea that comforts, calms, and welcomes you home.

Formulation & Philosophy

At Yukari, Hojicha represents release and rest — an extension of our IN/OUT philosophy, where wellness includes moments of stillness. This tea is sourced from
growers who respect the land and its rhythm. No enhancements. Just leaves, fire, and intention — turned into warmth in a cup.

Technical Details

  • Type: Roasted green tea (Hojicha, loose leaf)
  • Origin: Aichi Prefecture, Japan
  • Tasting Notes: Warm, toasty aroma with soft notes of caramel and wood, smooth finish
  • Use: Infuse 2g (1 tsp) in 200ml of water at 90–95°C. Let steep for 30–60 seconds, then savour plain — excellent warm or iced.
  • Storage Tip: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Once opened, reseal tightly or store in an airtight container. Refrigeration recommended to preserve freshness.
